AI Trading Agent Startup Catalyst Completes $30 Million Seed Funding Round Led by Sequoia Capital
On October 8, according to Fortune, Catalyst, a startup focused on building artificial intelligence (AI) trading agents for retail investors, completed a $30 million seed funding round led by Sequoia, with participation from Jump Trading, PeakXV, Lux Capital, AntiFund, Coinbase, and Premji Invest.
Co-founded by Justin Zheng and Dylan Iskandar, Catalyst's product converts users' natural language commands into trading strategies and executes them, while retaining a manual confirmation step. Prior pilot tests generated hundreds of millions of dollars in trading volume within weeks. The founders noted that the platform will also introduce companion user education tools to help users understand trading risks and safeguard their assets.
