Sui-native Bitcoin financial infrastructure Hashi to launch mainnet this month, has secured over $500 million in capital commitments
October 8 — According to a Sui Foundation announcement, Hashi, Sui's native Bitcoin financial infrastructure, will launch its mainnet this month through a phased rollout. Hashi has already secured over $500 million in capital commitments, with more than 20 crypto industry institutions participating in its launch alliance, and Anchorage Digital joining as one of the first partners.
Hashi aims to bring native BTC into programmable financial markets on Sui. In Hashi, BTC remains on the Bitcoin network; after users deposit BTC, Hashi mints corresponding hBTC on Sui, which users can use to participate in on-chain financial applications such as lending, credit, yield vaults, and structured products. Upon exit, hBTC is burned, and the corresponding native BTC is released back to the Bitcoin network.
Sui stated that over $500 million in capital commitments has already been secured to provide initial liquidity for the Bitcoin financial market on Hashi, with the funds entering lending, borrowing, credit, and other BTC-backed markets through Hashi vault providers such as Aftermath, Concrete, and Fluid.
On the institutional participation side, Anchorage Digital will access Hashi through two pathways. Its Atlas settlement and tri-party collateral infrastructure will provide access channels for institutions that meet qualified custody, compliance, and operational requirements; meanwhile, Anchorage Digital's institutional self-custody wallet Porto will also support institutions in using Hashi directly. In addition, Anchorage Digital plans to provide stablecoin liquidity to Hashi.
Hashi's use cases include using BTC as collateral to obtain stablecoin liquidity, BTC lending, BTC-backed credit products, automated vaults, structured products, real-world assets, and Bitcoin-backed bonds, among others. Institutions such as BitGo, Bullish, Cumberland, FalconX, and Ledger have also participated in building the Hashi ecosystem.
On the security front, Hashi employs MPC, Sui smart contracts, and a Guardian Layer to build multi-layered protection. BTC collateral uses a 2/2 multisig mechanism, jointly authorized by Hashi validators and Guardians; its smart contracts have passed Certora formal verification, while CommonPrefix completed a cryptographic security review of the MPC protocol.
Sui stated that the Hashi mainnet will gradually expand access by the end of this month, and as partners complete integrations, native BTC will begin to be used in real environments as programmable collateral within the Sui ecosystem.
