October 17 - According to the tokenization service materials published by DTCC, the service initially offers 25 types of tokenizable securities, underlying which are securities custodied by DTC, with a scale of approximately $30 trillion. Tokens maintain a 1:1 correspondence with the original securities, use the same CUSIP, and carry rights and investor protections consistent with book-entry securities, while the official book records remain custodied by DTC. 24/7 peer-to-peer transfers are possible between registered DTC wallets, and the tokens carry compliant transfer restrictions.

U.S. Treasury interest payments and maturity services will be conducted on-chain, with funds paid in fiat currency to participants' traditional accounts. The first batch of supported assets includes Russell 1000 constituents (starting with select large-cap stocks), certain ETFs, and U.S. Treasuries. The first networks to go live are Canton Network (CIP-56) and DTCC's private network Besu (ERC-20), with Stellar (SEP-41) and Circle's Arc (ERC-20) expected to be integrated in 2027.

The subsequent roadmap includes expanding the scope of tokenizable securities, adding control features such as single sign-on and maker-checker, expanding corporate actions services for stocks and ETFs, consolidating stock records between book-entry and on-chain holdings, supporting on-chain net settlement, collateral, and digital cash, and gradually expanding the scope of compliant DTC participants. Priorities for 2027 and beyond will be determined in conjunction with participant and industry feedback.
