October 28 - Data shows that in September, the U.S. goods trade deficit widened by 2.1% to $134.9 billion, exceeding economists' expectations of $130.2 billion. Imports increased by 2.4%, driven by a 7.5% surge in capital goods, including computers, semiconductors, and telecommunications equipment that support the expansion of AI data centers. Exports rose by 2.6% but failed to offset the growing import bill.
