CNN: Senior Democrats are 'full of confidence' about winning the House.
November 4 - According to CNN, senior House Democrats believe they will take the House tonight and hold a more solid majority than the slim margin currently held by Speaker Mike Johnson.
House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries declined to jump to conclusions, stating that Democrats will win at least 218 seats to reach a majority. But two senior Democratic sources revealed they believe Democrats will ultimately win 230 to 235 seats. In the event of a "landslide" victory, Democrats might win as many as 240 seats, but Democrats consider this scenario far less likely than 230 to 235 seats.
Jeffries was more cautious. According to a person familiar with the matter, Jeffries traveled from New York to Washington, D.C., that day to have lunch with party officials. But the crab shack where they dined was the same one where Democrats ate on Election Day 2018—the last time Democrats won control of the House under President Trump, when they swept 41 seats.
