November 5 — Samsung Wallet has opened stablecoin accounts to eligible US Galaxy users, allowing them to buy, hold, send, and receive Solana-based USDC directly within the wallet without needing to download a separate crypto app or manage private keys. The feature covers approximately 82 million compatible Galaxy devices.

The service is built jointly by licensed custodian Bastion and Coinbase, with Coinbase acting as sub-custodian holding USDC through Coinbase Prime Vault. Users can transfer to other Samsung Wallet users in the US and compatible external wallets with no Samsung fees, and can also remit to eligible bank accounts in over 60 countries, with a 4% credit card top-up fee. The service is available to US residents aged 18 and older, excluding New York State. Samsung said it will later explore online and offline stablecoin payments and expand into more markets.
