US pre-market trading is mixed as restaurant stocks report varied earnings.
On Nov. 5, as reported by Investor's Business Daily, following a strong rally in US stocks on the previous trading day, major index futures showed mixed premarket action as investors weigh restaurant company earnings and upcoming employment data.
Impacted by a cyclosporiasis outbreak and rising operating costs, Cava saw both revenue and earnings fall short of market expectations; although Dutch Bros beat third-quarter revenue and earnings estimates, same-store sales growth slowed and the company lowered its full-year adjusted EBITDA guidance. Meanwhile, ad tech company AppLovin's third-quarter results beat expectations.
The report cited Econoday data indicating that markets expect US initial jobless claims to come in at 196,000 for the week, compared to 194,000 in the prior week.
