Altimeter founder: pushing to expand "Trump account" to people under 40

Oct 21, 10:10

October 21 - According to the New York Post, Brad Gerstner, founder and CEO of Altimeter Capital and a promoter of the Trump account plan, said he is pushing to expand the plan's eligibility from under 18 to under 40, with related legislation possibly advancing in the coming months, and seeking to make the funding support mechanism permanent.

Gerstner estimates that by the end of 2027, private donations to the plan could cumulatively reach $100 billion, and Musk's pledge to gift SpaceX stock to American children is only the "tip of the iceberg." Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas, relaying the report, estimated that the expansion could cover roughly 100 million additional people. At present, the expansion remains a legislative proposal being pushed forward, not a policy that has taken effect.
