Citadel founder Griffin: AI investment boom is "almost certainly" a bubble

Oct 21, 15:51

On October 21, citing Jinshi Data, Citadel founder Ken Griffin said on Tuesday at the Future of Global Markets Conference in New York that the current AI investment boom has "almost certainly" formed a bubble. He compared this boom to the dot-com bubble, while noting that a small number of companies could still become long-term winners. S&P Global expects AI-related capital spending by six tech companies including Amazon and Microsoft to exceed $7 trillion between 2025 and 2030. CoreWeave has roughly $50 billion in debt, and the yield on its bonds maturing in 2031 once rose to about 16%. Gartner estimates that more than $4 trillion in assets could face impairment risk by 2032.
