Anthropic faces FUD pressure: co-founder siblings' tens of millions in equity awards spark controversy

Oct 21, 17:00

October 21 – According to the New York Post, AI company Anthropic posted a net loss of approximately $80.7 billion in the first half of 2026, a sharp widening from $13 billion in the same period last year, while the co-founder siblings' tens of millions of dollars in equity awards have sparked significant controversy.

It is reported that Anthropic co-founder and CEO Dario Amodei and his sister, company president Daniela Amodei, each have a base salary of roughly $655,000, but after including stock and option awards, their total annual compensation reached approximately $18 million and $16.5 million respectively.

Market observers believe that Anthropic is facing a round of FUD pressure, which may be related to concerns in both traditional financial markets and the crypto market over the potential liquidity drain from a large IPO. Neither traditional financial markets nor the crypto market wants to see another massive liquidity outflow like the one during the SpaceX IPO.
