Anthropic launches proactive AI assistant Claude Duet research preview
On October 22, citing information from Claude's official website, Anthropic has launched a research preview of its proactive intelligent assistant Claude Duet, with a waitlist now open for applications. Claude Duet is powered by Opus 5.5, arrives on iOS and Android as a standalone app, and can be used on desktop via claude.ai. The assistant runs on an independent cloud computer, can access users' connected apps, delivers a morning briefing each day, and continues processing tasks while the user is away, asking for user consent before sensitive actions such as sending messages or making payments. During the research preview phase, it is only available to Claude Pro and Max users in the United States, with Team and Enterprise plans not yet included. Anthropic engineering lead Felix Rieseberg announced the opening of the waitlist in a post on X the same day.
