Hong Kong fintech project implementation coordination group holds sixth meeting: Hong Kong Fintech Week 2026 to run November 2-6

October 29: According to a press release from the Hong Kong SAR Government, the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury (FSTB) Hui Ching-yu chaired the sixth meeting of the Fintech Project Implementation Coordination Group, where participants exchanged views on various fintech areas, including the proposed regulatory regime for virtual asset trading, custody, advisory and management services; the Hong Kong Monetary Authority reported on Project Ensemble and the quantum readiness of the Hong Kong banking sector. In addition, Hong Kong Fintech Week 2026, themed "Fintech Hub: Connecting the World, Building the Future Together", will be held jointly with the StartmeupHK Festival from November 2 to 6, with the main forum taking place on November 2-3 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
