Nasdaq Reportedly Urging Listed Companies to Oppose Tokenizing Their Shares on OKXICE
October 30: Crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett posted on X that, according to information obtained by her co-host Jacquelyn Melinek, Nasdaq representatives have been reminding its listed companies not to let their shares trade through tokenization on OKXICE TSV, the joint venture of OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). Melinek said an executive at a Nasdaq-listed company told her that a Nasdaq representative proactively reached out and advised the company to oppose tokenized trading on OKXICE, and offered a call to explain the reasons. So far 38 companies have raised objections, 23 of which are listed on Nasdaq. Nasdaq has previously said publicly that it is concerned about tokenized stocks trading outside traditional market structure, and said it does not plan to launch a TSV; it is advancing its own tokenization model with Kraken, expected to launch in the second quarter of 2027. Nasdaq has not yet responded to a request for comment.
