Binance Hot Wallet Reportedly Attacked, With About $2.5 Billion in Assets Transferred Out

October 30: According to Etherscan data, Binance's hot wallet "Binance 14" (0x28C6…1d60) sent approximately 167,500 ETH (about $379 million), 1.615 billion USDT, and more than 60 other tokens including RLUSD, wBETH, XAUt, UNI and USD1 to a new address 0x5227…CB2f8c in a single transaction at 04:24 Beijing time, with a total value of about $2.5 billion. On-chain data shows that the address that initiated the transaction, 0x7C86…5CA0, was funded through Tornado Cash, and BWEnews, Tree News and others say the hot wallet appears to have been hacked. As of press time, Binance has not responded.
