Tether CEO: Over 1.567 Billion USDT Linked to Suspected Binance Theft Frozen

October 30: Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino posted on X that Tether has frozen more than 1.567 billion USDT related to the suspected theft at the Binance exchange, saying that protecting the industry and its partners is its top priority. Circle previously froze about 823 million related USDC, bringing the combined total to approximately $2.39 billion. Binance officially said it is investigating potential security issues and has not yet confirmed that user funds were affected.
