Blockaid: Binance Hot Wallet Suspected of Being Targeted by 7702 Authorization Attack

Oct 30, 05:56

On October 30, analysis by Web3 security firm Blockaid indicates that in the suspected Binance hack, the attacker was unable to determine the current nonce for the hot wallet Binance 14 and submitted 50 EIP-7702 authorizations in a single transaction, with only one taking effect. Since the hot wallet was still actively broadcasting transactions at the time, one of the nonces coincidentally matched. Blockaid previously noted that this address was subsequently upgraded to an unverified collection contract, restricting withdrawals of all tokens and ETH to designated operator addresses only.

Additionally, Whale Alert monitoring shows that at 05:50 Beijing Time, an address labeled “Binance Hack 2026” transferred approximately 7.77 trillion PEPE tokens to an unknown wallet, valued at roughly $37.48 million. This information has not yet been officially confirmed by Binance.
