Binance Suspected of Being Hacked for at Least $5.57 Billion Across Three Public Blockchains
On October 30, according to Decrypt, on-chain statistics indicate that at least $5.57 billion in crypto assets have flowed out of Binance-related wallets across the Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Tron networks, with approximately $3.51 billion on Ethereum, 18,270 BTC (around $1.44 billion) on Bitcoin, and approximately $630 million on Tron.
The report states that the first Ethereum transfer occurred at 04:24 Beijing Time, sending 167,464 ETH and 1.615 billion USDT, along with other assets, to a new address; approximately three minutes earlier, an address funded by Tornado Cash submitted a delegation authorization for the hot wallet via EIP-7702, and how the attacker obtained the signature remains unclear.
If confirmed as a hack, the scale would surpass the February 2025 Bybit theft of approximately $1.5 billion. Binance stated it is investigating and has not yet confirmed whether user funds have been affected. The situation is still developing; please exercise caution.
