Justin Sun Seeks Sanctions Over WLFI's Late Disclosure of UAE Citizenship, Plans to Sue in California State Court

Nov 3, 23:45

November 3 — Justin Sun posted on X that his lawyers have asked a U.S. federal court to sanction World Liberty Financial (WLFI) and its lawyers, saying WLFI disclosed its UAE citizenship only months after the litigation began. WLFI's initial filing listed only itself as the owner, with citizenship in Florida. In August the court ruled that some claims would remain in open court; less than a week later, WLFI amended the members of the ownership chain to 22, involving the UAE and other jurisdictions, and on that basis argued the federal court lacked jurisdiction. Sun has invested a cumulative $45 million to buy WLFI tokens, and in April sued WLFI for fraud and froze its tokens. He said that after a ruling on the sanctions motion, he will refile the suit in a California state court.
