Canton Network Completes First Batch of Tokenized U.S. Stock Trades Under SEC Innovation Exemption Framework
November 5 — According to a press release from Canton Strategic Holdings, the Nasdaq-listed company (CNTN)'s issuer-backed tokenized common stock completed its first trades on November 4 (ET) on TSV LLC, a tokenized securities trading platform on the Canton Network. The company said these were the first tokenized U.S. stock trades under the innovation exemption framework introduced by the U.S. SEC on September 17. In the trades, existing shareholder Five North was the seller, DRW Cumberland was the buyer, and Flowdesk provided liquidity. The trades were conducted through a permissioned pool of the Tradecraft AMM protocol and settled atomically on the Canton Network. The company said holders of the tokenized stock have the same rights as shareholders holding shares through Nasdaq. Crypto reporter Eleanor Terrett said in a post on X that TSV LLC was the first trading venue to notify the SEC that it intended to operate under the innovation exemption.
