Nov 7, 18:34

We Nov 7 news: According to Cointelegraph, Vanderbilt University researchers say a Polymarket user placed a bet of nearly $200,000 on Oct 31 that Nebraska Senator Pete Ricketts would be re-elected. An hour later, The New York Times/Siena College released a poll showing Ricketts in the lead. The New York Times reported on Friday that it is not yet clear whether the user possessed inside information, but the user's profit exceeded $77,000.

The report said the user also placed similar large bets on other markets such as Kalshi. Brett Goldstein of Vanderbilt University's Institute of National Security said this series of circumstances is difficult to explain as random coincidence and requires further investigation. Polymarket said it has identified these trades and is investigating, while Kalshi declined to comment.
