Polygon Founder Apologizes for Team Allegedly Mocking Abstract Shutdown: Marketing Team Was Just Self-Deprecating

Oct 7, 17:17

On October 7, in response to Polygon's official X post titled "Polygon is Not Dead," which appeared to mock the shutdown of Abstract, Polygon founder Sandeep clarified that the content's reach "did not meet expectations" and that some individuals assigned it entirely different meanings. The Polygon marketing team was merely engaging in self-deprecation, as Polygon's fundamentals continue to show steady growth, and they had absolutely no intention of subtly referencing Abstract's closure.

Sandeep added that he initially felt confused upon seeing the post himself, emphasizing that he holds great respect for Abstract founder Luca Netz and his team. Since Polygon has also previously terminated its zkEVM project, he understands the associated difficulties firsthand and would never use it to mock others. He extended his best wishes to Luca and the Pudgy Penguins team.
