Sui Offline Tunnel Surpasses 40 Million TPS in Real-World Test

Oct 8, 01:53

On October 8, according to Cointelegraph, Sui's programmable offline tunnels achieved a peak throughput of over 40.6 million transactions per second (TPS) during a real-time stress test held in Singapore, significantly breaking the network's previous test record of approximately 6.1 million TPS.

During this test, over 10,000 tunnels went live on the mainnet, covering payment, gaming, and chat scenarios. All transactions were processed through offline channels, with settlement only occurring on the Sui blockchain upon channel closure. Adeniyi Abiodun, co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Mysten Labs, noted that this performance target was designed for the daily high-frequency interactions of millions of future AI agents, stating, "The global market does not need 6 million or even 40 million transactions per second; humans do not move that fast, but AI agents can."

CertiK served as the independent auditor for this demonstration and is currently verifying the test data, with a complete evaluation report expected to be released shortly.
