OpenAI announced the release of the GPT-6 model and made it available on the free tier.

On October 8, citing Jinshi Data, that OpenAI announced on the 7th local time that it has officially launched the GPT-6 model equipped with an "intelligent UI" for global Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users, and plans to make it available to free and Go users starting tomorrow.

In this update, the paid version is powered by GPT-6 Sol, while the free and Go versions are backed by GPT-6 Luna, both optimized for everyday conversational scenarios. This feature is currently only available on the "Chat" tab of ChatGPT.

The project team explicitly confirmed that this model upgrade does not affect the Work and Codex products, and the underlying models utilized for these services will maintain their existing configurations.
