US stocks open with all three major indices opening lower, as the optical communications sector leads the decline.

On October 8, according to Bitget market data, the three major US stock indices opened collectively lower: the Dow fell 0.36%, the Nasdaq fell 0.51%, and the S&P 500 index fell 0.37%. The optical communications sector led the decline, with Coherent dropping over 4%, while Corning, Lumentum, and Marvell Technology each fell more than 3%.
