Securitize Launches Tokenized US Stocks on Solana, Stock Price Surges 10%

On October 9 that, according to Cointelegraph, tokenization firm Securitize launched a new service titled "Securitize Stocks" on Thursday, issuing tokenized versions of major US stocks on the Solana blockchain, prompting its share price to surge approximately 10%. Open to qualified investors, the issued tokens correspond to shares of 12 publicly traded US companies, including Apple, Nvidia, Microsoft, and Tesla.

These tokenized shares are backed 1:1 by their underlying shares, preserving dividend and voting rights. Trading currently occurs only during extended market hours via a broker-dealer registered by Securitize, with the company stating its goal is to enable 24/7 trading in the future. Regarding infrastructure, Ripple Prime plans to support the launch and integrate the assets into its institutional trading services, while decentralized lending protocol Aave has been identified as a potential use case for leveraging stocks as collateral.

This expansion marks continued momentum in the real-world asset (RWA) tokenization sector. Data shows that the total value of distributed assets, excluding stablecoins, has risen to $38.888 billion, up significantly from $25.36 billion a year ago, indicating an accelerating pace of bringing traditional financial assets on-chain.
