CZ: Ledger hardware wallets may face targeted supply chain attacks; recent buyers should remain vigilant.

On October 9, Changpeng Zhao (CZ) posted on social media to warn users who recently purchased Ledger hardware wallets to remain vigilant. According to current information, the incident is suspected to be a localized supply chain attack targeting a single supplier, with a small number of users possibly having acquired counterfeit or tampered Ledger devices.

CZ noted that while Ledger is one of the industry’s long-standing hardware wallet brands, known for its robust security and proven track record, such supply chain vulnerabilities are inherently difficult to fully eliminate. He stated that participants in the BNB ecosystem and the broader industry would spare no effort to assist in tracing and recovering the affected funds.
