On October 9, that according to an announcement released on the White House website on Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the establishment of a special committee to investigate the allegations against Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook. According to the Oct. 7 announcement, Trump stated: "To assist me in carrying out this duty, the committee will investigate the allegations against Governor Cook and report to me whether there is 'just cause' for removing Governor Cook." This investigation will focus on assessing whether Cook meets the legal criteria for dismissal, and does not currently indicate that she has been removed.
