Anthropic Co-founder: AI Could Drive U.S. GDP to $44 Trillion, Humanity Has Only a Few Years Left to Set Defenses

On October 18, Coin Bureau reported that Anthropic co-founder Jack Clark warned artificial intelligence could boost US GDP from around $30 trillion to $44 trillion, but humanity may only have a few years to establish effective safety safeguards to ensure AI remains under human control.

Jack Clark also specifically cautioned that AI could trigger the so-called "singularity," calling for global regulations to be established to prevent AI from being misused in biological research and cyber weapon development. Separately, reports indicate that Anthropic plans to launch an IPO in November, at which point the company's valuation could reach $2 trillion.
