Robinhood CEO: Regulatory uncertainty over U.S. tokenization may hinder large-asset entry
On October 28, according to Cointelegraph, Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev stated during the third-quarter earnings call that the SEC’s tokenization innovation exemption is a positive development, but further rules or legislation are still needed to provide long-term regulatory certainty for the tokenized stock market; otherwise, the entry of large assets could be hindered.
Tenev also stated that Robinhood plans to launch private company stock token products overseas. In terms of business performance, Robinhood’s third-quarter cryptocurrency revenue fell 55% year-over-year to $120 million, and nominal trading volume dropped 38% to $50 billion; revenue from prediction market event contracts grew to $173 million, with the number of traded contracts increasing to 16.4 billion.
