A16z Co-Invests in Dream, an AI Architecture Design Company Founded by Former Palantir Founders, as it Completes $17 Million Seed Round
On October 30, according to TNW, San Francisco startup Dream has emerged from stealth to announce a $17 million seed funding round. Investors include Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), SV Angel, XYZ, and Zigg Capital. Dream was co-founded by Andy Elder and Arjun Mathur, who both worked at Palantir for approximately ten years.
The company is developing an "architectural world model" trained on over 100 million square feet of licensed U.S. building data. The model can understand spatial relationships between building components, such as how HVAC ducts route through walls. The company states that the drawings generated by the model are precise enough for contractors to use directly for construction. Initial business focus will be on commercial projects such as storefronts, offices, and data centers.
