On November 1, the three major U.S. stock indexes each fell at least 1% this week, dragged down by a heavy sell-off in tech stocks, according to Seeking Alpha.

On an individual stock level, Intel plunged nearly 26% due to weak earnings guidance, Alphabet dropped 12.2% after missing quarterly estimates, and Microsoft, Amazon, and other software stocks also declined simultaneously.

Specifically, Amazon's capital expenditure surpassed expectations and online retail growth decelerated to 2%; despite accelerating AWS revenue growth, its share price remained under pressure. ServiceNow posted growth in subscription revenue and upgraded its guidance, but investor worries that AI could disrupt its operations led to ongoing selling.

Analysts note that lackluster guidance from large tech firms, coupled with market anxieties over AI displacing traditional business models and increasing AI-related costs, collectively suppressed tech sector performance.
