US President Trump announced support for Jim Desmond to run for Congress.

On November 4 that, according to a post by US President Trump, he announced his support for San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond in his bid for a U.S. House seat representing California's 48th congressional district, and urged voters to cast their ballots for him.
Trump stated that Desmond previously served in the U.S. Navy and also worked as the mayor of San Marcos, California. He added that upon election, Desmond would promote economic growth, reduce taxes, and strengthen border security.
