ChatGPT supports GIF generation, OpenAI launches Images 2.6

Nov 5, 02:03

On November 5, according to The Verge, ChatGPT now supports generating animated GIFs via text prompts or uploaded photos. Users can also adjust playback speed, edit individual frames, and share their creations. Previously, ChatGPT could not natively generate GIFs in a single step.

The feature launches alongside OpenAI's new image model, Images 2.6, which also accelerates image generation in ChatGPT and is rolling out to web, desktop, and mobile users of ChatGPT and Codex. OpenAI has also introduced GPT-Image-2.6 Flare and Sunburst in its API for faster and higher-quality image generation, respectively.

OpenAI stated that users currently generate over 4 billion images per week through ChatGPT and the API, up from the 3 billion per week it disclosed in September.
