On November 6, security organization SEAL disclosed that TraderTraitor, a North Korean-linked hacking group suspected of attacking Binance, may have remained undetected within its environment for approximately eight weeks prior to the theft on October 29.
SEAL noted that the timeline and details outlined in Binance’s preliminary report align with the group’s pattern of utilizing shell companies and recruitment processes to execute the attack. The security firm stated that the attackers’ dwell time within the target environment provided an opportunity for the enterprise to detect the intrusion.
