DeepSeek Relaunches Fundraising, Pre-Money Valuation of $500 billion

Aug 5, 09:37

August 5th - According to Caijing Magazine, multiple traders revealed that the large-scale model company DeepSeek has restarted its second round of financing. This round is planned to raise $50 billion, with a pre-money valuation of about $500 billion, and is expected to be finalized by the end of August.

Several investors mentioned that DeepSeek's second round of financing had already started by mid-July, but was suddenly halted at the end of July. At that time, some investors on the waiting list were informed that the plan to sign the financing agreement was postponed.

Prior to this, on July 26th, the media reported that DeepSeek had suspended its second round of financing. One of the reasons was that DeepSeek's founder, Liang Wenfeng, was dissatisfied with the widely circulated online discussions, mainly regarding the alleged leaked "investor-facing conference transcript." DeepSeek and the investors at the negotiating table hope that this round of financing will be conducted quietly after the restart. Currently, some previously interested investment institutions have stated that they have not yet received any news about DeepSeek's resumption of financing, and the channel is still in a state of suspension.
