Claude Code no longer needs a human to act as a messenger, multiple terminals can communicate on their own
According to Perceptive Beating monitoring, Claude Code has added cross-session communication. Now multiple Claude Code terminals open at the same time can send messages to each other, and one session can proactively notify another of recent changes, eliminating the need for manual context copying.
Between two sessions, only curated information will be sent, without directly sharing the complete chat history and files. It also allows one Claude to query another Claude and bring back the answer to the current session.
This feature is somewhat similar to Herdr. Herdr is a tool specifically designed to manage multiple Coding Agent terminals, where different Agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode can directly message each other, not limited to just Claude Code.
