August 9th. The police in Hengli, Dongguan, China recently successfully intercepted a virtual currency investment scam. Five minutes before the victim and the fraudster conducted an offline transaction, they promptly seized 1.1 million yuan in cash, avoiding significant economic losses. It is understood that the victim, Ms. Li (pseudonym), had previously met a stranger online who used the pretext of an "internal investment channel for virtual currency" to lure her, promising low entry barriers and high returns, and creating an investment profit illusion through forged profit screenshots.

Subsequently, the fraudster, under the guise of "requiring offline cash for USD recharge," induced Ms. Li to withdraw 1.1 million yuan in cash for delivery. After discovering the risk clues, the Dongguan police promptly initiated an early warning interception mechanism, organized forces to rush to the bank to dissuade, and ultimately successfully prevented the fund transfer before the transaction.
