JPMorgan and Other Brokerages Raise Year-End S&P 500 Target to 8,000

Aug 10, 22:01

August 10th - According to CCTV, on August 10th, JPMorgan Chase officially raised its year-end 2026 target for the S&P 500 Index from 7800 points to 8000 points. The main reason is the robust corporate earnings outlook, with large tech companies increasing their AI investments expected to significantly accelerate revenue growth.

This target point is about 3% higher than the S&P 500's closing level last Friday. Currently, at least seven brokerages have predicted that the S&P 500 will reach 8000 points by the end of 2026.

JPMorgan analysts stated that as backlogged orders translate into actual revenue, the cloud computing business is expected to maintain strong growth. This will validate the rationale for AI capital expenditures and further alleviate market concerns about the return on investment. According to data from the London Stock Exchange Group, out of the 436 S&P 500 companies that have released their second-quarter earnings, 85.1% have exceeded analyst expectations, significantly higher than the long-term average of 68% since 1994. Fueled by optimism around AI this year, the S&P 500 Index has already accumulated about a 13% gain.
