F2Pool Co-founder Wang Chun Opposes BIP-54 Proposal: Node Upgrade Will Proceed If BIP-9 Activation Criteria Met
August 11th, F2Pool co-founder Chun Wang stated in a post that the pool currently does not support the BIP-54 proposal. However, if the proposal is strictly carried out following the BIP-9 (Bitcoin Improvement Proposal activation mechanism) and reaches the required supermajority signaling threshold, their team will update the pool nodes.
Chun stated that they will not participate in the BIP-54 signaling vote until the formal activation conditions are met.
BIP-54 is one of the recent protocol upgrade proposals in the Bitcoin community discussion, involving adjustments to Bitcoin's consensus rules. Wang's statement reflects that some miners still hold a cautious attitude towards the proposal, preferring to drive the upgrade through the standardized BIP-9 process and community consensus.
