Gemini's Monthly Active Users Surpass 1 Billion, Becomes Google's Fastest-Growing Product Ever

According to App Watch, Google's Gemini app has officially surpassed 1 billion monthly active users. CEO Sundar Pichai stated that it has become the fastest-growing product in Google's history. Gemini is also the 14th Google product to cross the 1 billion user threshold.

Its growth rate continues to accelerate. In February of this year, Gemini's monthly active users had just exceeded 750 million; by May, it had risen to 900 million; in July, it reached 950 million. In less than a month, it has added approximately 50 million more.

Google also released a batch of usage data. 63% of users engage directly with Gemini via voice. In every 5 interactions with Gemini Live, the camera or screen sharing is used once. The iOS active users have exceeded 100 million, and Gemini generates over 150 million images per day.

However, 1 billion monthly actives do not yet surpass ChatGPT. Sensor Tower estimates that the ChatGPT app reached 1 billion monthly actives in May of this year; OpenAI also stated that ChatGPT achieved 1 billion weekly actives in July. At least in terms of monthly active users, Gemini is catching up in the same "billion-level" range as well.
