According to a report from LatePost, Fu Yue, former Head of AI Data at ByteDance, has been revealed to have started a new venture in the Agent/FDE direction. A co-founder, who is also said to be a former ByteDance executive, and multiple well-known VCs are reportedly in contact with the project. Currently, the company's name, co-founder's identity, and funding status have not been officially disclosed.

FDE stands for Frontline Deployment Engineering, which involves directly integrating AI Agents into real-world workflows by deeply engaging with client businesses. Such teams need to understand both models and engineering, and work with clients to solve specific business problems.

In 2023, Fu Yue returned to ByteDance to establish Global Data, where he was responsible for data procurement and quality control for large-scale model training, making him one of the early leaders in ByteDance's AI data ecosystem. It was reported yesterday that he recently left ByteDance, and Wang Yinglei has taken over his responsibilities.

Shortly before and after Fu Yue's departure, ByteDance further upgraded the data ecosystem he was involved in building. Global Data, the Group's Data Mid-End DMC, and teams under Flow such as AIDP have been integrated into the new "AI Data and Security" first-level department, running parallel to departments like Seed and Flow.
