According to DataPulse Beating, OpenAI has released the Linux version of the ChatGPT desktop app, currently in a preview stage. ChatGPT, Work, and Codex are all integrated in the same app, bringing Linux users a desktop experience similar to macOS and Windows.

The app currently supports Ubuntu 24.04, 26.04 LTS, Debian 13, as well as Fedora 43, 44, and provides both x64 and ARM64 versions.

Approximately a month ago, Anthropic had already launched Claude's Linux desktop version. With OpenAI's follow-up, the AI desktop apps from both companies now officially cover Linux.
