Origin, a GitHub competitor for Cursor, unexpectedly launched: Tailored for Agent to Manage Code

According to Dynamic Beating monitoring, Cursor's code hosting platform Origin was accidentally opened to some users. It is Git-compatible, positioned similar to GitHub, but specifically designed for the high-frequency read-write and code submission scenario of AI agents.

Screen captures from early users show that Origin supports one-click repository import from GitHub, automatic merge conflict resolution, and global synchronization in less than 400ms. A single repository can process approximately 22 commits per second, with around 296,000 clones per hour.

However, this opening seems to have been accidental. Cursor later notified users that this was only a preview of Origin, and the access has now been closed again. The performance metrics have also not been formally tested yet.
