Binance's funding account has been renamed to stock account, and the crypto assets in the original account will be migrated to the spot account.
September 23 — According to an official announcement, in order to simplify user account structures and enhance the asset management experience, Binance will gradually migrate crypto assets from users' Funding Accounts to their Spot Accounts starting September 29, 2026. The migration is expected to continue until January 2027, with specific dates to be announced separately. After the migration period ends, the Funding Account will be renamed the Stocks Account, to be used solely for the trading and settlement of stocks and stock options.
Migration details are as follows:
Starting September 29, 2026, the Funding Account will no longer support on-chain deposits. Users can use the Stocks Account for stocks and stock options trading, with support for 6 settlement assets (USD, USDC, USDT, USD1, U, BNB).
The Funding Account will be renamed the Stocks Account in January 2027, with the specific date to be announced separately. After the renaming, users can still use the aforementioned 6 tokens to purchase stocks through the Stocks Account. Deposits and withdrawals of other crypto tokens will be conducted solely through the Spot Account.
A "One-Click Migration" button will be added to the Funding Account, allowing users to proactively migrate crypto assets to their Spot Account.
Assets not proactively migrated will be automatically migrated by the Binance system to the Spot Account in batches starting January 2027. No manual operation is required, and users' total asset balances will not be affected.
