HSBC and Ant Digital Technologies Test AI Agent Payments, Achieving Real-Time Settlement Based on Tokenized Deposits
October 10: HSBC and Ant Digital Technologies announced the completion of a proof-of-concept test for AI Agent micropayments. The test combined HSBC's tokenized deposit service, Ant Digital Technologies' Anvita Flow network, and the Jovay testnet to demonstrate the process of AI Agents automatically discovering digital services, selecting services, and completing payments, with individual micropayments typically below $2.
Among them, HSBC was responsible for payment settlement and real-time risk checks, Anvita Flow was responsible for coordinating service access and payments, and Jovay provided the Layer 2 blockchain testing environment. Transactions were settled through the blockchain testnet.
Both parties emphasized that this test was solely for technical validation and does not represent the official commercialization of related products or their launch to customers. As AI Agents gradually gain the ability to autonomously invoke services and execute transactions, tokenized deposits, stablecoins, and blockchain payment infrastructure are becoming important directions for financial institutions exploring machine-to-machine payments.
