Physical novel text mixed with AI prompt words; publisher responds that it will recall and destroy copies and issue a revised edition.
Beating AI News Flash: Community netizens recently discovered that a sentence suspected to be an AI prompt, disconnected from the context, appeared in the main text of the physical novel "Walking Alone on the Road to the End": "Do you need me to fine-tune some sentences so that the overall writing style better fits the suspense and supernatural atmosphere?" This sentence does not exist in the Tomato Novel App version of the original novel, raising questions among netizens about the publishing process and the use of AI tools.
On October 9, relevant staff from Jiangsu Phoenix Literature and Art Publishing House responded that the publishing house has received relevant feedback and is currently handling the matter. All books already distributed will be fully recalled and destroyed, and will be republished after revision. Regarding the reason for the suspected AI prompt appearing in the manuscript, the staff member said that the manuscript went through multiple stages including editing and proofreading, and that this was not the author's problem.
According to reports, the book opened for pre-sale on August 21 this year, and the book is currently no longer on sale on various platforms. A former sales manager at the publishing house said earlier that the physical book was taken off shelves because of insufficient inventory.
