October 20: Micron Technology announced it will fund Indium Corporation's expansion project in Rome, New York, to restore critical mineral processing capacity required for U.S. semiconductor manufacturing. The two parties will sign a long-term supply agreement to ensure a stable supply of high-purity mineral raw materials and reduce dependence on globally concentrated mineral refining capacity.

This collaboration is part of Micron Technology's U.S. semiconductor supply chain investment plan announced in July this year, which plans to invest up to $3 billion. Micron also plans to invest more than $250 billion in U.S. domestic wafer manufacturing and related technologies by 2035, and this project will provide supply chain support for its domestic manufacturing layout.
