October 20 - Bitget Greater China head Xie Jiayin disclosed in a post that hackers invaded and obtained data from PingCAP's cloud database product TiDB Cloud. Companies such as Bitget and Baidu have previously cooperated with this data service provider.
Bitget had only stored some public transaction log data in TiDB Cloud and had stopped using the service more than two months ago. This incident did not involve user data, nor was there any leakage of sensitive information such as passwords, so users need not worry.
He also explained that the so-called public transaction data refers to information that all users can view in the transaction channel.
