Flowtica Secures Tens of Millions in Funding: Stick an E-Ink Screen on the Back of Your Phone, Generate To-Dos Directly During Meetings
Beating AI News Flash: AI hardware company Flowtica has completed a new round of funding in the tens of millions of RMB, led by Vertex Ventures, with existing shareholders including Source Code Capital, Morningside Venture Capital, and Clear Water Bay Fund participating.
Meanwhile, the company's AI e-ink screen Verso, which debuted at the IFA exhibition in September this year, has opened deposit-based pre-orders, with the first batch of products scheduled for delivery in early December.
Verso is a 6.5mm-thick magnetic e-ink screen that can be attached to the back of a phone. According to the official introduction, during meetings, a single press enables recording, real-time transcription, and key point extraction — before the meeting ends, to-do items can already be displayed on the screen. Users can press a button to mark important statements and also directly ask the AI questions, such as looking up content from a previous discussion with a client or generating a draft follow-up email after the meeting.
Compared to AI recording cards like the PLAUD Note Pro, Verso's main difference is not recording summarization, but rather displaying meeting notes, schedules, and to-dos directly on the hardware screen, eliminating the need to repeatedly open a phone app. It also pulls up past communication records before meetings, reminding users of unresolved matters. However, Flowtica has abandoned an always-on listening design — users must manually start recording, and the recording indicator light cannot be turned off.
Verso is priced at $199 for pre-order in the US, with a regular list price of $299. Pre-orders require a $10 deposit, with the balance due starting November 17. The device comes with a 3-month unlimited AI plan, and continued unlimited service requires additional payment.
