Ansem on Short-Term Trading: Time Is Also a Key Metric in Risk Management
October 31 - Crypto trader Ansem posted an article sharing risk management experience in short-term trading, stating that traders should not only focus on price and stop-loss levels, as time is equally an important factor in determining whether a trade is valid.
Ansem said that when he enters a position, he expects the market to quickly show significant movement. If Bitcoin stays near the entry price for an extended period without moving in the expected direction, he begins to reevaluate the trading logic. Sometimes, even if the stop-loss level has not been triggered, he exits early because the market has not unfolded as expected for a prolonged time.
He believes that one of the advantages of short-timeframe trading is the ability to identify earlier whether a trading strategy is working. Judging whether a trade is worth continuing to hold requires not only looking at price action but also considering the time it takes for the market to fulfill expectations.
